Affiliate Disclosure

How affiliate links work
Some links on ShelterVolt are affiliate links. When you click one of these links and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go directly to the site.
Affiliate programs we participate in include Amazon Associates and manufacturer direct affiliate programs for equipment we cover. We will note affiliate relationships where applicable.
What doesn't change because of affiliate relationships
Our content. If a product has a bad spec sheet, we say so. If a contractor pricing model is inflated, we show the math. Affiliate commissions are not large enough to justify recommending something we wouldn't buy ourselves — and our credibility with readers is worth more than any commission check.
We don't take payment for product placement, sponsored reviews, or "featured" rankings. If a product appears prominently on this site, it's because the specs and economics justified it — not because a manufacturer paid for the placement.
Assume any product link may be an affiliate link
Rather than marking every individual link, you should assume that any link from ShelterVolt to a product or retailer may include affiliate tracking. This is consistent with FTC guidelines for affiliate disclosure. If that bothers you, copy the product name and search for it directly — you'll pay exactly the same price.
FTC compliance
This disclosure complies with the Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials. We believe in transparency about how this site generates revenue, and we maintain editorial independence from any affiliate relationships.
